This is a free professional development event. The Summit supported and developed by the Colorado Health and Physical Education Council, the council consists of health and physical education district coordinators and other partners from across the state of Colorado. This summit promises inspiration, networking opportunities, and a shared commitment to fostering healthier futures.
Session Description: CORE PE is a BRAND-NEW TEACHING SYSTEM which interprets and breaks down ALL of the 2024 SHAPE America Grade Span Learning Indicators in a done-for-you format, providing you an aligned, efficient, and comprehensive system to plan, teach, assess, and report results. Save planning time, teach intentionally, and experience consistent "in the zone" teaching, learning, and connection with your students. This is WHY we teach! CORE PE is for teachers to lead students through achievable developmental levels along their physical literacy journey.
Session Objectives:
See an evidence based curriculum system is 100% reflective of the 2024 SHAPE AM standards and outcomes for grades K-5 and 6-12.
Learn how to use a practical and efficient PE program that makes teaching enjoyable and effective. Saving valuable planning time and energy to allow teachers to teach in meaningful ways to meet student needs of promoting healthy lifestyles.
Understand that CORE PE has over 300 skill breakdowns; including yearly and quarterly planning as well as tools to report results

Session Description: We'll teach the critical skills needed for early care of a sudden cardiac arrest victim. Additionally, we'll offer a unique approach to build a team of lifesavers to save a precious life. Each participant will receive a two-year Starting Hearts certification card.
Session Objectives:
1. Provide the fundamental steps (beyond CPR) to save a life. 2. Demonstrate the leadership skills to quickly develop a team, delegate responsibilities, and oversee a cardiac emergency. 3. Build confidence to act when needed.
