Welcome to the Second Annual Colorado Health and Physical Education Summit 2025
This is a free professional development event. The Summit supported and developed by the Colorado Health and Physical Education Council, the council consists of health and physical education district coordinators and other partners from across the state of Colorado. This summit promises inspiration, networking opportunities, and a shared commitment to fostering healthier futures.
Communication skills are an overarching Health standard, as well as a major component of Social Emotional Learning. If we want students to “talk it out” or “use a refusal skill”, we need to provide them with clear criteria and multiple opportunities to practice. Join Diane Farthing, 2020 Western District Teacher of the Year for Health Education and co-author of the G-W Health Skills for High School textbook, as we focus on activities to help middle and high school students identify their feelings, create appropriate responses for a variety of situations, and assess achievement of our communication standards.
